The Slackharmonic

Under the BFB (Ben Franklin Bridge) is an unfinished album for The Slackharmonic from 2007, which was abandoned when the band broke up before summer of '08. These are the tracks we had rough mixes for before the session files were destroyed by dragon fire. Or....a failed MAC harddrive. About the same.

The vocals would be better--more even, if we had the raw files and could do more takes. The rest is okay, warts and all. The backing vocals and some leads are missing in places. Ideally we'd have been able to track to a click, but that wasn't my setup at the time (now it's different!)

A lot of my unfinished material would go on to form some of the core material for Mini Mammoth; I would next see Gary and Clayton in 2012-13 when their band The Lost Will Follow and the band I was in, Magnificent Birds of Prey started playing on bills together in support of Gashouse Radio. I think some of the tracks Gary was demoing when the band split went on to become Lost Will Follow Tracks, but he could confirm that.

That was a fun time period, too (GasHouse Radio), but this album documents the beginning of the end for me in Old City and for The Slackharmonic, so it was the end of an era in a lot of ways for me ~ Carl

Coming soon--"Graveyard of the Atlantic"
The album was tracked with Donal McCarthy at Slap Studios in 1999. I distinctly recall my sister being there for the vocal sessions to track harmonies for "Curtain Call" and she named my Alitma "Barry" that day. Long story.
