Title text 'Table 64 To Slay The Giant' in black and red.

To Slay the Giant

To Slay the GIant is the first and only full release from the short-lived Bucks County/Philly-area band, Table 64. There is one other EP, Sissy Goes to Manayunk, but I don't have it digital, I only have it on tape, or it's lost in a box.

This recording was our response to MTV's decline in music videos at that time (mid-90s). I vividly recall tracking the guitars on Chris's Les Paul black beauty. We tracked everything between his keyboard and a four track (maybe chaining two together). We really pushed the limits of the gear we had, which wasn't much, in hindsight. When you're using a radio shack mixer to sum drums and bass to one channel...well, you'll see the limitations.

(We enjoyed a summer of playing though at the Rosegarden (but now it's Wawa's parking lot). I did a little bit of everything at that place, including helping witht he entertainment, which was a blast. I'll add to this as I gather up additional tracks from the album. There should be a few more: Death Plays Baseball, She Unknown and Roadside Stop.

Suzanne Lamoureaux does not unfortunately appear on the recording, but she did play with us plenty of times at the Rosegarden, and when we played in WHYY's talent contest.

The songs The Poet, She Unknown and Roadside Stop were recorded in August of 1995 and were added here to give them a place to live. We were still playing The Poet.

Table 64 got to play a benefit show at Maennerchor field in Doylestown during which we created a makeshift stage on a rainy day and pushed through despite the weather. I broke a string and finshed the set playing someone's flying-V! Good stuff!

The shows happened between 6/96-11/96). This incarnation of Table 64 was:
Chris: bass, mixing/engineering, keys/synth
Mike: guitars
Carl: vocals/guitars
Bucky: drums & percussion
Suzanne: keys/piano
