My name is Carl J. Kunz Jr. -- I picked up a guitar after the first band I was in (vocals) fell apart, vowing never to be without accompaniment again. Inspired by albums such as Nirvana's "Nevermind" and Smashing Pumpkins "Siamese Dream" and other grunge/alt offerings from the 90's I dove into developing my own style, incorporating bits and bobs learned over the years. Currently, I play lead in a national grunge tribute, Flannel a Grungy 90's Revival.
Recording is fun for both documentation and creativity. I've been recording for thirty years and am always interested in session work or collaboration. Be sure to check back for new music frequently (currently cataloging my songs). In the meantime check out current Bandcamp and YouTube offerings. Recording services are offered (Pro Tools) - direct message me for more info.
Performance is a passion! Nothing feels quite like being on stage working as one with my friends and bandmates. I've played acclaimed venues, such as the TLA (Philly), Electric Factory (Philly), Rams Head Live (Baltimore), Filmore (DC), Gramercy (NYC), NorVa & National (VA) and many more.

I've always been a huge fan of Fender products, especially the Fender Stratocaster, which feels like home. A slim, playable fretboard, favoring ebony or rosewood playing surfaces. Loved it enough to make my guitar headstock my first tattoo. Can't imagine life without my '95 Ltd Ed. American Standard through a Fender Tube amp!
Started off a Marshall JCM800 kinda guy, but have slowly drifted towards Fender combos in search of a clean bell tone. Love my Fender Princeton and Hot Rod DeVille amps.
